Overview
About the program
The PhD program promotes a scientific approach to the study of the relationships between economic, demographic, and social phenomena, with the aims of nurturing the scientific debate at an international level and improving the design of economic and social policies that may boost growth and social cohesion, improve fairness and individuals’ wellbeing in an intergenerational perspective, with a particular focus on the challenges posed by globalization, technological progress, and adverse shocks (such as, for instance, the COVID-19 pandemic).
The research questions investigated by students in this Socio-Economic and Statistical Studies program at Sapienza University of Rome belong, in particular but not exclusively, to the fields of Economics, Public Economics, Political Economy and endorse an interdisciplinary perspective. The related research activities are carried out implementing experimental and econometrics methods.
