Overview
The graduate can analyze, synthesize and compare the legal institutes of the legal branch of Roman law, as well as related legal branches. He is able to use all basic scientific research methods in his scientific work, while he is able to connect not only the legal institutes of Roman law with each other, but also to think critically and interdisciplinary.
The graduate at Comenius University Bratislava also masters conceptual, analytical and synthesizing knowledge in the field of Roman Law, with wide application in jurisprudence and practice.With his personal scientific contribution, he is able to shape the further development of Roman law on a national and partly international scale. Applies acquired knowledge in practice with knowledge of choosing alternative conceptual or individual solutions.

- The basic prerequisite for admission to doctoral studies is a second-level university degree.
- Completion of a master's degree programme in law in the Slovak Republic, or completion of a master's degree programme in law in the Czech Republic, or completion of a master's degree programme in law in a country other than the Slovak Republic or the Czech Republic on the basis of the Decision on the Equivalence of Documents.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in the field of law to be the subject of the doctoral studies - at least at the level of a graduate of a master's degree programme.
- The ability to study, communicate at a professional level and publish in at least one world language;
