Overview
The Information and Communication Technology programme at Gdansk University of Technology includes obligatory and facultative courses which highlight aspects of data exchange, processing and analysis, as well as lectures by visiting professors from related research areas.
The most important topics covered by the programme are: data and signal acquisition, storage, analysis and visualization, information encoding, exchange and dissemination, as well as the design principles of telecommunication systems and networks, radio communication, and radiolocation.
The courses offer a broad and interdisciplinary insight into the scientific methods of ICT, and provide examples of their application to a variety of disciplines. The available research opportunities include applications of ICT methods to medicine, land and sea engineering, navigation, education, homeland security and others.
Career opportunities
The graduates of the PhD programme will have obtained the knowledge and skills in the fields of technical informatics and telecommunications. As such, they will be qualified to enter either the ICT industry as unit leaders, or to continue on in research and academia as experts in their field.
Graduates who choose a career in the industry tend to find high-ranking positions in international corporations from the ICT sector, many of which have established their R&D divisions in close proximity to the University.

General requirements
- If you are a graduate of a master degree program (master level of studies) and have a master's degree, you can participate in the admissions to our school.
- If you are finishing your master's degree (you are in the last semester), but have not yet defended your thesis, you can also apply.
Required:
- confirmation of payment of the application fee
- a copy of the diploma or diplomas of higher education certifying candidate's educational background
- a diploma supplement or diplomas or a certified list of grades in the first- cycle and second-cycle or long-cycle master’s degree studies
- a statement of a prospective supervisor
- a document certifying knowledge of English at least at B2 level
- the candidate’s curriculum vitae (CV)
- one color photograph
- the enrolment form
Candidates also take part in an interview conducted in English.
