Overview
About the project
Basin-scale water resource management confronts unprecedented challenges due to the accelerating impacts of climate change. Disruptions to historical precipitation patterns, compounded by shifting land-use and increasing water demand, expose the limitations of traditional models and decision-making tools. Climate change introduces significant uncertainty, increasing the risk of both water scarcity and extreme events like floods and droughts. Yet, within this challenge lies a transformative opportunity.
The confluence of vast datasets and cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) techniques offers the potential to revolutionize water management. Artificial intelligence and machine learning can unlock patterns within complex systems, enhance predictive capabilities, and facilitate adaptive, climate-resilient planning.
The AI-powered Resilience - Big Data Solutions for Basin Scale Water Management in a Changing Climate project is offered at Deakin University.
