Overview

The learning objectives of the study programme entitled Business Economics and Management programme from Matej Bel University in the third level of university studies aim at acquiring relevant professional knowledge in different areas of Business Economics and Management at both national and international levels, including the current scientific theories and approaches. The purpose of study is to prepare students for their future scientific, research, and academic work, but also for potential managerial utilization of the acquired knowledge in research and consultancy-oriented institutions, and in enterprises and organizations of different types and fields in Slovakia and abroad.

Key Facts

This presumes embracing a large spectrum of scientific methods, as well as methods of basic and applied research within the core areas of the study programme. The graduate will be able to identify relevant information sources, effectively work with statistical and resource databases in the given field, critically evaluate the obtained information, and based on this, formulate challenges for scientific knowledge and research questions, as well as derive the research design. The further objective of the study is to learn how to integrate the obtained facts, and conceptual and cognitive knowledge in writing scientific papers and the dissertation thesis, and in synthesizing the data to improve the existing phenomena and processes in enterprises of national and international importance.

All doctoral study programmes of the Economics Faculty of MBU have the same admission conditions.

The basic condition for admission to Doctoral study is completion of the Master study.

An applicant who does not prove that the basic admission condition for study has been met at the time of verification of compliance with the admission conditions may be admitted to the study conditionally, for study has bane met no later than the date designated for enrollment in study.
