Overview
At the same time, the graduate of Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing programme from Pavol Jozef Safárik University in Kosice possesses an extensive knowledge from various branches of geography and related scientific fields that can be used for research and development in the area of his/her specialisation.
He/she possesses a systemic and extensive knowledge on a wide spectrum of methods for geospatial data collection, processing and interpretation within the specialisation. He/she is able to work scientifically including the formulation of the scientific problem, ethics and social aspects. He/she is able to work creativelly, contribute to theory and methodology of geoinformatics and remote sensing and bring a new knowledge.

The graduate’s skills include the ability to formulate a scientific problem and hypothesis, theoretical framework, concrete methodological steps, critical evaluation of results and formulate conclusions and strategies for further research and development as well as manage the researcher’s own professional development.
He/she is able to evaluate and verify the suitability of various methods and technological tools during the solution of concrete scientific and practical problems along with the understanding of application limits. He/she is able to use these methods and tools and improve them during the evaluation and optimisation process and search for new knowledge, technology and technical details.
Based on these outputs and findings, he/she is able to propose, verify and implement new research and working procedures in a wider context and consequences of the proposed solutions. He/she knows how to present these procedures and research outputs in publications, research reports and how to transform the results to application recommendations to support decisions, planning documents or public policy.
