Overview
The Landscape Engineering programme from Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is oriented towards educating graduates who master the principles and procedures of scientific work, in which they will apply approaches based on interdisciplinary connections.
Key Facts
The aim of the study is to teach the student to analyze and understand interactions in the landscape and to use the acquired knowledge to eliminate negative impacts on the landscape.
The concept of the study program is built on interdisciplinarity and includes the issues of climate change, water management, land management, soil protection and enrichment, nature and landscape protection, environmental management, waste and circular economy. The study is based on the use of GIS tools and modern simulation tools, which are applied in analyzing problems and finding their optimal solutions.
The student will acquire knowledge of scientific, theoretical and experimental methods and procedures in the field of landscape design and will be able to bring their own original solutions and strategies. During the study, emphasis is placed on the internationalization of the study in the form of study stays and internships at one of the partner workplaces abroad. Graduates of the program work in the fields of science, research, and education, as well as in various leadership positions in state and public administration, management positions in companies, design studios, and can hold positions at the level of national and European authorities.
