Overview
The basic objective of the Applied Informatics programme from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is to prepare qualified professionals with an emphasis on the domain of knowledge discovery and data analysis. The study programme responds to the needs of practice, where there are increasingly requirements for acquiring knowledge from the collected data, or for prediction and planning support.
Career prospects
The graduate is proficient in scientific methods in applied informatics and related fields, or domains in terms of knowledge discovery and data analysis, which he creatively applies in basic and applied research. He researches scientifically and brings his own solutions to problems. He/she has the skills to formulate a scientific problem, develop a project and lead a research team.
The graduate will find employment in all sectors where highly qualified and creative work in the field of applied informatics is required, both in the public and private sectors.
Programme Structure
The study programme consists of a study part and a scientific part:
- The study part focuses on the acquisition of knowledge in the theory and methodology of applied informatics, and on the mathematical principles of computer science, while both main areas are approached with an emphasis on the respective application domain of knowledge discovery and data analysis.
- The study part of the doctoral study is created with regard to the latest development trends in the application domain of knowledge discovery and data analysis. Under the guidance of the supervisor, the doctoral student selects compulsory elective courses with regard to the topic of his dissertation.
