- Holders of a master's degree or equivalent in History or in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, with preference given to candidates with research experience in History;
- Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a particularly relevant academic or scientific curriculum and who present letters of recommendation that are recognised by the Directive Committee of the PhD as attesting to their capacity to undertake this cycle of studies;
