Overview
The Offshore Renewable Energy programme offered by Swansea University has been a collaborative partnership between the University of Edinburgh, University of Exeter, University of Strathclyde and the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS). From 2024, for this new iteration of IDCORE, we are honoured that Swansea University is joining the collaboration. All 5 institutions bring together renowned academic expertise in Offshore Renewable Energy and world class research facilities.
Key Facts
This EngD is a four-year, full-time, programme based in Edinburgh for Semesters 1 and 2 of year 1 (September to June), after which students are physically based with their sponsoring company, spread all across the UK, for 3 years. Research projects are entirely driven by the sponsoring company and reflect the research focusses of the ORE sector, in real time. Students are matched with their research project in February of year 1, and projects kick off in the following June. IDCORE’s industry-based approach provides students with real-world industry experience and an opportunity to really contribute to the activities of their company.
