Overview
Jointly offered by the School of Medicine and the School of Sciences, the PhD in Cancer Biology and Clinical Oncology prepares candidates to become independent scholars and researchers in biomedical sciences, contributing to advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
At the core of the program, students receive advanced training in Cancer Biology, Clinical Oncology, Biostatistics, and Research Methodology. Through a combination of taught courses and intensive research work, students explore the molecular etiology and clinical presentations of different human cancers. The program enables students to develop independent laboratory and clinical research skills using state-of-the-art technologies and contemporary scientific techniques, while fostering innovation and critical problem-solving in addressing complex biomedical challenges. Graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in academic institutions, research laboratories, diagnostic centers, as well as the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
