History
IMT Atlantique was created in 2017 from the merger of two major French Graduate Schools of Engineering : Mines Nantes (1991) and Télécom Bretagne (1977).

Research
As a resolutely active technological university, IMT Atlantique has signed academic research cooperation agreements with numerous national and international universities and research organizations. In particular, it is strongly involved in Joint Research Units, Laboratories of Excellence and Scientific Interest Groups. It also supports international mobility programs for researchers and PhD students and hosts international research consortia (chaires).

University Ranking
Student services
The student executive board or "bureau des élèves" (BDE) coordinates the various clubs and societies and manages the student bar and relaxation areas (Brest and Nantes) where students enjoy a friendly and festive atmosphere. The BDE is also the intermediary between the students and the IMT Atlantique administration .
Housing services
- The Brest, Rennes and Nantes campuses are located in dynamic cities that all offer great quality of life. These three campuses are equipped with the best facilities and working environments to promote personal and professional development. The Brest and Nantes campuses each have a school restaurant which are open to all and located on or near the premises. In Rennes, our staff have access to a nearby restaurant, located about 10 minutes away on foot.
Library services
IMT Atlantique offers access to a large number of resources thanks to its network of libraries on the three campuses and to a large online catalog common to all the schools of the Institut Mines-Télécom group.

To access Internet via the School's wireless network (WiFi), several possibilities exist, depending on your status
Medical services
To be reimbursed for your health care expenses, you need to register with France's heath care system "L'assurance maladie", this is free on charge.
Campus life
IMT Atlantique has 3 campuses in France (and 1 site in Toulouse).
- Brest Campus is located on the seaside (in Brittany) which makes it one of the nicest campus in France. Brest has over 24,000 students in a population of 200,000 people.
- Nantes Campus is spread over 15 hectares of land on the banks of the Erdre River a few kilometres north of the centre of Nantes. It is in the heart of Atlanpole, Nantes' technology hub, which is entirely devoted to cutting edge technology and is also home to other higher learning facilities, research centres and business incubators.
- MT Atlantique's Rennes campus is situated in the Rennes-Atalante technology hub, near to the research and development centres of large corporate groups (Orange, Technicolor...)
