IMT Atlantique was created in 2017 from the merger of two major French Graduate Schools of Engineering : Mines Nantes (1991) and Télécom Bretagne (1977).
Seven departments are situated on the Brest Campus
Four on the Nantes Campus
And one on the Rennes Campus
As a resolutely active technological university, IMT Atlantique has signed academic research cooperation agreements with numerous national and international universities and research organizations. In particular, it is strongly involved in Joint Research Units, Laboratories of Excellence and Scientific Interest Groups. It also supports international mobility programs for researchers and PhD students and hosts international research consortia (chaires).
The student executive board or "bureau des élèves" (BDE) coordinates the various clubs and societies and manages the student bar and relaxation areas (Brest and Nantes) where students enjoy a friendly and festive atmosphere. The BDE is also the intermediary between the students and the IMT Atlantique administration .
IMT Atlantique offers access to a large number of resources thanks to its network of libraries on the three campuses and to a large online catalog common to all the schools of the Institut Mines-Télécom group.
To access Internet via the School's wireless network (WiFi), several possibilities exist, depending on your status
To be reimbursed for your health care expenses, you need to register with France's heath care system "L'assurance maladie", this is free on charge.
