About

History

Brandeis University was founded in 1948 by the American Jewish community at a time when Jews and other ethnic and racial minorities, and women, faced discrimination in higher education.

Brandeis’ visionary founders established a nonsectarian research university that welcomed talented faculty and students of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Education

Find yourself. Lose yourself. Get your answers questioned and your questions answered. A Brandeis education is a vigorous exploration in critical analysis, creativity and self-expression. Our faculty combine innovative teaching with groundbreaking research and scholarship. Immerse yourself in the liberal arts and sciences, and engage in research that excites you, with faculty leaders in their fields.

Research

Inquiry, scholarship, collaboration and a passion to improve human lives are the building blocks of our DNA. That’s why Brandeis is one of just 65 members of the Association of American Universities, an organization of elite research institutions in North America.

Career

Create the connections and get the experience to accelerate your career. Networking opportunities, funded internships and advice from successful alums in your chosen profession are just some of the resume-building strategies we offer.

We provide all members of the Brandeis community with training and support for project work in video production, audio production, digital photography, graphic design, 3D printing and scanning, building prototypes, researching rare materials and more. Find support for your creative endeavors and unique research projects!

Student Life

Campus life

Our rolling 235-acre campus isn’t defined by bricks and mortar. We bring spirit and passion to everything we learn and do. Events like Festival of the Arts bring us together; residence hall life, dining and lively discussions keep us connected.

Student clubs

Brandeis was founded with a commitment to improving the world. Every year, our students rack up 55,000 hours of community service. If you’re passionate about a cause, or just looking for a club.

Accreditation

Brandeis University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Commission on Institutions of Higher Education reaffirmed Brandeis University’s accreditation in fall 2006.

The NEASC Commission commended GPS on the quality of its online programs, on the uniform content and quality between online and classroom-based courses of the same course title, and on the attention given to advising and support for students enrolled in online courses.

Many online degrees at other institutions lack accreditation. We’re proud to say that all programs at Brandeis Graduate Professional Studies are accredited.
