History

In 1965, the University of California, Irvine was founded with a mission to catalyze the community and enhance lives through rigorous academics, cutting-edge research, and dedicated public service.

Education

Research

Services

Student services

The International Center advances and facilitates international engagement at UCI to enhance the academic and personal experience of the international community. The International Center staff is committed to serving campus constituents through advising, immigration services, programming, advocacy, and outreach.

Housing services

UC Irvine Student Housing works in close partnership with the Disability Services Center. Housing accommodation decisions where physical, medical, psychological, or developmental needs are to be taken into consideration are based on written recommendation from the Disability Services Center. 

Library services

The Langson Library offers quiet study space in a wide range of options including 852 individual study spaces.

  • Open 24 hours 10th and Finals weeks.
  • The Basement and Special Collections are designated Quiet Study Zones.
  • The 3rd floor offers study rooms of varying sizes.
  • The Nordstrom Honors Study Room is available on the 4th floor for Honors students.

ICT services

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff.  The mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University.

Medical services

The UC Irvine Student Health Center is a comprehensive outpatient clinic staffed with licensed primary care physicians, psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, dentists, physician assistants, registered nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.

Campus life

Centrally located next to the Science Library, Campus Village offers independent year-round living for both undergraduate and graduate students, with all the advantages of on-campus housing, including live-on support staff, community facilities, convenience, and affordability.

Sports facilities

The mission of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California, Irvine is to facilitate and enrich the education and personal growth of its students through their participation in competitive NCAA Division I athletics. Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to the welfare of student-athletes and staff, and advocates an environment that promotes excellence in athletic and academic performance, sportsmanship, diversity, and gender equity. Intercollegiate Athletics also supports the University of California's mission of public service and serves to generate a unifying spirit among students, faculty, staff, and alumni that transcends communities, cultures, and generations.

Student clubs

The Office of Campus Organizations provides opportunities for students to pursue personal and professional goals through involvement with Registered Campus Organizations. We promote leadership development by providing resources, innovative programming, and advising for Campus Organizations and the campus community. We aspire to provide transformative leadership experiences that foster a community of engagement and campus spirit.

UCI is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. All courses and certificate programs offered by UCI Division of Continuing Education have been developed and are administered in accordance with UCI Division of Continuing Education policy and the regulations of the Academic Senate of the University of California.
