History
Founded in 1994, ENSAI has been located on the Ker Lann Campus since 1996, just outside Rennes. ENSAI is part of the network of prestigious higher education establishments in France known as Grandes écoles, or specialized graduate schools.
Education
ENSAI's education trains its students to become qualified, high-level managers in information processing and analysis. After graduating from the statistical engineering or INSEE civil servant statistician program, our students have threefold expertise in statistics, econometrics and computer science, which is universally recognized in all professional sectors.
Research
The research of ENSAI is part of the Center of Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST). This center is located in Paris region and at Ensai campus in Brittany. The research activity of CREST at ENSAI covers topics in statistics, economics, and computer science, in both theoretical and applied aspects.
Career
Each year, around 60 ENSAI graduates enter the professional world. The ENSAI curriculum is widely recognized by employers. As proof, the professional world integration indicators observed with our graduates places ENSAI above the average for graduate engineering schools, concerning the net employment rate, the duration of job search or salary.

Student services
Irrespective of their status as statistical engineering students or civil servant statisticians, ENSAI welcomes and helps students with a wide range of disabilities – be they sensory, motor, or illness-related - to participate fully in school life. Staff work closely together to ensure disabled students are fully integrated.
Housing services
SMEBA, one of the student mutuelles, has an accommodation office with ads for student rental accommodation that can be consulted free of charge all year round. In order to take up one of these offers you have be a SMEBA member and take out their University Insurance cover.
Library services
Set on the 2nd floor of the school, 70 places are available in the library reading room.
Its collection of documents is composed of nearly 18,000 works, about 200 collections of periodicals (especially scientists) of which current about thirty.
Campus life
ENSAI is located near Rennes on the Ker Lann campus, where there are about six thousand students. This location is ideally suited and offers pleasant working and living conditions with a range of facilities covering accommodation, catering, sporting activities and associations.
Sports facilities
Practicing sport regularly is not only a satisfying activity on an individual basis, but it is also a good way to socialize and to get to know people. As a means of encouraging a balanced life, practicing sport regularly quickly becomes a source of well-being, physical fitness, and an occasion for convivial moments, since it brings the experience of shared adventure and going beyond one’s limits.
Student clubs
The Student Union (bureau des élèves) co-ordinates all the student associations. It oversees the running of a number of clubs: photo, cinema, chess, music, skiing, theatre, rock, humanitarian, lectures, debates, and games. It manages the school cafeteria and organizes the new student orientation weekend, the annual ski trip, and cultural and entertainment evenings.
- ENSAI has been accredited by the French Accreditation Board for Engineering Education, the CTI (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur), to award a Masters level engineering degree.
- ENSAI is also accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research to deliver a Master of Science in Statistics for Smart Data (known as a Master international or DNM in the French nomenclature).
