The University of Manitoba is western Canada’s first university, established in 1877, and located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Career Services assists all University of Manitoba undergraduate and graduate students with career planning and job search questions. Alumni can also receive assistance up to 6 months after graduation. Whether you are undecided about your career direction or looking to plan for success, we can help! Services

Student services

Services for Students at Bannatyne Campus (SS@BC) provides consultation, support and referral services to all Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) students. We are separate and distinct from any academic program and exist solely to support students' personal and academic success. Most services are available by appointment, although urgent cases are handled on a priority basis. Some services have extended hours to accommodate student schedules. All services are confidential and free of charge.

Housing services

As an ICM student, you will have access to a range of accommodation options to find which one best suits your needs.

These include on-campus accommodation, off-campus accommodation and homestay. Students under 18 years of age who require a custodian are encouraged to apply for homestay accommodation.

ICM students may apply to live in University of Manitoba residences at the Fort Garry campus, just a short walk from your classes. 

Library services

Located at the Fort Garry campus, Elizabeth Dafoe Library is University of Manitoba's largest library supporting research and teaching in the following faculties, colleges, and departments.

ICT services

The IST Service Desk is available to assist students, faculty and staff with any IT issues that you have may have. We are here to find a solution or point you in the right direction.

Service Desk provides University of Manitoba students with information and assistance with computing questions and problems: E-mail; Password Resets; Supported Software; Wired & Wireless Network and More. 

Medical services

University Health Service (UHS) is the University of Manitoba’s (U of M) community health clinic providing excellence in primary care and health promotion services for its entire community.  UHS is committed to practicing a patient centered, collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to service delivery while nurturing a healthy work environment.

Campus life

Each year, University of Manitoba classrooms are filled with over 26,000 of the brightest students from across the nation and more than 100 countries worldwide. 

They are diligently supported in their efforts by over 5,000 faculty and staff committed to ensuring an outstanding learning experience. With two ever growing campuses and a population that makes it in essence Manitoba's third largest city, the University of Manitoba is a bustling knowledge community with an international reputation and reach.

Sports facilities

The Active Living Centre is a 100,000-square-foot facility and offers 1,000 free weights and accessories, 160 pieces of cardio equipment, a 12-metre climbing wall and a 200-metre elevated running track.

Student clubs

With over 140 student groups on campus, there is truly something for every student. Groups span a variety of activities: academics, culture, politics and hobbies. And if you don’t find something you like you can always start your own.

Accreditation

A number of the university's programs hold accreditation by provincial, Canadian and/or international professional accreditation bodies.  A listing of accredited programs at the University of Manitoba can be found below.  Note: in some cases, program accreditation may be used in lieu of a formal academic program review.

To increase the consistency in the communication of accreditation results as well as to increase transparency with respect to these reviews, Senate has approved a set of guidelines on the communication of external program accreditation.
