History
On December 16th, 1949, advised by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the 11thAdministrative Meeting of the National Administration Council passed “The Resolution on the Establishment of Renmin University of China”.
Education
Renmin University of China is a comprehensive research-oriented university focusing on humanities and social sciences. It also offers a range of courses in the natural sciences, information technology and environmental sciences. The university’s overriding tasks have consistently been the pursuit of truth and progress, cultural transmission and educating the country’s future elites. RUC is an important base for training high-caliber professionals in the social sciences and humanities and houses a number of influential research centers and think tanks.
Research
The Research Center of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence was established by the Ministry of Education in 2001 under RUC School of Information. It is a research entity for the technical innovation and system integration of data warehouse and business intelligence engineering. Leveraging on RUC’s research strengths, the Center adopts modern industrial management system for research, development and production, in a way to build a first-class center for database industrialization.

Housing services
The School of Law is located in a quiet, safe, inexpensive and suburban neighborhood in Queens, about 12 miles from Manhattan. St. John’s understands that many incoming students will need to relocate to the area, and we would like to provide you with the information to make this transition as smoothly as possible. There are several housing options for law students including:
- Living in the University-owned DePaul Townhouses;
- Living in Off-Campus Housing; and/or
- Being placed on the Roommate List.
