History
The origin of the University of Seville was the Santa María de Jesús School, founded by archdeacon Rodrigo Fernández de Santaella in the late 1460´s. The five centuries leading to the modern University can be divided into five fundamental stages.

Research
The University of Seville considers research to be the work of creating, developing and updating scientific, technical, artistic and cultural criteria. Research activity is carried out in the heart of the Departments, University Institutes, and Research Centres; and is supported by public and private funding. The University has a strong commitment to socio-economical development of the Seville area, and therefore carries out intense transfer of knowledge and technology to society and its economic fabric.
Career
There is the possibility of carrying out internships in collaborating entities, such as companies, institutions and public and private entities at the national and international level.
The University of Seville has more than 8,000 educational cooperation agreements so that its students can carry out their external internships, both curricular and extracurricular:
- Curricular internships: those that are contemplated in the study plans and that are managed from the different centers of the university.
- Extracurricular internships: they are voluntary and are managed by the Secretariat for Business and Employment Internships.

A library distributed throughout the city
The various branches of the library in faculties and schools allow easy access to all students . In addition, it has other services such as loan of laptops or group work rooms.
On the other hand, the University of Seville has study rooms open 24 hours a day to facilitate study in a quiet and conducive environment .
ICT services
Easy information access is available with WIFI networks and the most complete Virtual Platform found in the Spanish University system. Electronic Administration and Virtual Classrooms are already available.
Medical services
From the University of Seville - in a pioneering way at the national level - special attention is also paid to people with disabilities through insertion or support programs, specific scholarships, psychological support or accommodation to guarantee equal opportunities in the development of their studies .
