Danube University Krems

History

In 1995 it opened its doors to students and was first created as a competence center for scientific specialization that focused on the pressing challenges at the time designing study courses accordingly.

Education

Danube University Krems provides extra-occupational university courses as Master programs, studies to qualify as “Academically Accredited Experts” as well as “Certified Programs”. Both PhD studies are connected to the main research areas of Danube University Krems.

Research

Research at Danube University Krems is centered on contemporary and future challenges society faces. In a trans-disciplinary context we build bridges between basic research and practical application, between individual disciplines and – as befits a university for continuing education – most of all to society.

Basics and application in research are combined in the four research fields:

  • Cohesive and Innovative Societies
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Regenerative Medicine
  • Continuing Education Research

Career

The Dual Career Service provides practical information about required formalities (arrival, registration), ranging from child care to postgraduate courses, and assists the partner of Dual Career couples in finding a suitable job. Furthermore, the service cooperates with the Dual Career Service Support of WWTF and other institutions such as AMS (State Employment Office) and the Regional School Inspectors for Lower Austria and Upper Austria.
