About

History

Western is a university of the environment. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do here. Our Huxley College of the Environment was innovative at its birth in 1969, and today those ideals have spread to every corner of campus.

Education

  • 175+ academic programs
  • 99% of classes taught by faculty, not graduate assistants
  • 74% of Western's faculty hold the highest degree in their field
  • 18:1 student to faculty ratio
  • 27 is the average class size
  • 74% of the classes have 30 or fewer students

Research

Western’s focus on undergraduate research means students don't have to wait until they're a graduate student to work directly with professors to get involved, solve real-world problems, and present and publish their work. Western’s students do cutting-edge research, take renewable energy to the next level, design race cars, make art, create apps, and turn recycled waste into useful objects.

The Student Health Center is excited to announce that it has implemented a new electronic medical record system (EMR) called Point and Click.  Unlike many EMRs that focus on hospital or private practice clinics, Point and Click specializes in college health.  Over 200 colleges and universities across the country already use Point and Click daily.
