Among UCU’s priority research areas are programs in Ukrainian Catholic theology, the study of problems of today’s world and reconciliation and mutual understanding in Ukraine, “Kyivan Christianity,” and “The UGCC in the conditions of the Soviet regime: Violent liquidation, life in the underground, the struggle for legalization, 1939-1989.” Among research areas in which UCU has, or in the near future plans to develop, as original schools of research are: history, including ecclesiastical and intellectual, research in nationalism, religious studies, separate branches of theology, sociology, ethical and bioethical problems, and applied research in the field of machine learning.
