Apart from 1000,000 books and almost 500,000 periodicals and regular publications, the Library has some 500,000 special items including 48,000 old prints (213 incunabulas) and 4,100 manuscripts.

Medical services

Health insurance is mandatory for all students for the whole duration of their stay in Poland. It is important to remember that each student coming to the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń for short-term studies will be asked to show a proof of health insurance upon arrival.

Sports facilities

University Sports Centre provides students with a wide range of sport activities such as basketball, volleyball, aerobics, yoga, steam gym, swimming, judo, aikido, and cycling. Students may also play tennis at NCU Tennis courts or attend horse riding lessons. It is important to notice that the number of students admitted to each class is limited and that priority is given to those who have PE (Physical Education) obligatory in their curriculum.

Student clubs

The official representative of all NCU students is the SAMORZĄD STUDENCKI - the Student Self-Government (each faculty has its representative). It cooperates with the authorities of the University and the faculties in matters relating to courses, students' social and material welfare, as well as in cultural matters. Its representatives participate in meetings of the Senate and on councils of individual faculties.
