First built in 1963 and expanded, modernized, and rededicated in 2003, the Bonnie Bell Wardman Library offers Whittier College students, staff, and faculty spaces and tools for many different kinds of research and learning activities.

Medical services

Located near the Campus Safety office, the Student Health & Wellness Center provides primary health care services and health and wellness resources to all Whittier College. It also offers holistic services at affordable prices and free nutrition counseling.

Campus life

Our residential nature is a key component in defining who we are, as students and professors live and learn in close proximity to one another, fostering an atmosphere where knowledge can be pursued 24/7. This is a community where individuality is valued, tolerance is cherished, and the things that make each of us unique are seen as invaluable tools in seeking greater knowledge and understanding.

Sports facilities

The Whittier College Poets compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) of NCAA Division III. The school has fielded sports teams for over 100 years. Its current teams include football, men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, lacrosse and water polo; women’s softball and volleyball; and men’s baseball and golf.

Student clubs

During the school year, Whittier College has more than 80 active clubs and 10 societies - our own version of fraternities/sororities. Combined, these groups offer activities encompassing a wide variety of interests.

Accreditation

Institutional Accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) assures the college community, general public, and local organizations that Whittier College is in compliance with federal standards. WASC is one of six official academic bodies in the United States that is charged with the accreditation of Whittier College.
