History

In the summer of 1882, Mother Aloysia Lowe, Mother Superior of the Pennsylvania Sisters of Charity, purchased the land in Greensburg, Pa. where Seton Hill University's main hilltop campus now stands. She named the site, which consisted primarily of farmland, Seton Hill, in honor of Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton, the founder of the Sisters of Charity and the first American-born saint.

Education

Seton Hill offers more than 80 undergraduate programs, 16 graduate programs, an Adult Degree Program and a wide variety of certificates and minors through five schools:

  • The School of Natural & Health Sciences

Library services

As a Seton Hill student, Reeves Memorial Library will provide you with the information resources, tools and support that you need to succeed. Located right in the center of University's main hilltop campus, the Reeves Memorial Library building also houses the Reeves Learning Commons, a centralized location for learning, creating and studying.

Medical services

Seton Hill’s Health Services Office promotes healthful living and provides professional outpatient care for students.  Services include:

  • Over-the-counter medication starter doses
  • Allergy injections
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Health counseling and referrals to other in-house and off-campus health services

Student clubs

Clubs and organizations are open to all students at Seton Hill and are a great way to make new friends. The Seton Hill Student Government Association holds an Involvement Fair at the beginning of each academic year, where students have the opportunity to learn about the many clubs and organizations available at Seton Hill and meet the students involved in each. Some clubs are so popular they've become a tradition at Seton Hill, while new clubs are created by students, faculty and staff members every year.
