As a student you can tailor the content of your studies according to your interests, career goals and strengths and also combine studies in different fields. At Aalto students are encouraged to seek different forms of cross-disciplinary cooperation.
Teaching at Aalto is developed and implemented hand in hand with research. Aalto has a culture that encourages continuous learning and creativity and where teaching is pioneering and challenges the traditional boundaries.
Aalto University is interested in both how the studies mould the students as well as how the students can shape their own branch of education and science. Student-centred activities have contributed to a reform of teaching.
Aalto University is an internationally unique combination of fields where science and art meet business and technology. The university strengthens Finland's competence base and creates conditions for innovations, economic growth, employment and wellbeing, now and in the future.
Scientific research and artistic activities can be found on three campuses, six schools, 36 departments and several separate research units and institutes.
The mission of Aalto University Career Services is to facilitate our students in finding relevant employment by mediating appropriate vacancies, organizing career and recruitment events, offering internship support in Finland and grants for internships carried out abroad and enhancing our students' job hunting skills. Finding housing can be time-consuming as advertisements are often in Finnish.A minimum rental period is usually 12 months for a private market apartment. This means that you are not allowed to terminate the rental agreement during the first year.Degree students at Aalto University are, for the most part, responsible for arranging their own accommodation. In order to apply for student housing in the Helsinki region, fill in the application forms directly on the webpage of HOAS and/or AYY.
