History
The New York Film Academy was founded by veteran producer Jerry Sherlock in 1992, who produced such classics as "The Hunt for the Red October". Encouraged by friends of his who wanted to send their children to film school, but found the prices too costly, Sherlock designed a school that was not only affordable, but more importantly, was founded on the principle of learning by doing.
Education
Inspired by the idea that to learn how to make movies, one must actually make movies, Sherlock and his colleagues designed a truly unique curriculum. Blending a mixture of traditional film school instruction with a new approach, the Academy emphasizes coursework based around students actually going out and shooting films as part of their coursework. Students write, produce, direct, and edit their own original films while also serving as crewmembers on their fellow classmates’ films to gain extensive on-set experience.

The understanding of growth
I do go to school here so there are many ways I can relate to the students because I am one myself. I feel the school is great and that with everything there is always growth. LA Film School's animation course is amazing and difficult. I feel that having someone doing what you are doing and being able to help you as a guide can make students more comfortable.
Exploring Sound and Storytelling in Film Studies
My experience in Film Studies has been inspiring and highly creative. Through this program, I learned how sound plays a powerful role in storytelling and emotional impact in cinema. I gained knowledge of sound recording, editing, mixing, and the use of music to enhance film scenes. The course helped me develop both technical skills and artistic understanding of film production. Working on practical projects improved my confidence and teamwork abilities. Overall, my Film Studies journey has been meaningful and has motivated me to pursue advanced studies in Sound Design for films.
My Time As A Music Student
The Los Angeles Film School is a good quality school especially for creative students, however very pricey. The tuition for a bachelor's in music was $74k but we received fairly high quality equipment with it. I would recommend this film school only if you can prove self-sufficient especially as an online student, due to not having many if any sessions with your teacher.
