History
The University's foundation stone was laid by King George V on 19 July 1920 and 89 students (including eight female students) enrolled that same year. By September 1939, there were 65 staff and 485 students.

Housing services
This is the Rod Jones Hall accommodation for The College students. Here you have safe, secure and convenient accommodation during your studies at Swansea University. Every room is a high quality en-suite study bedroom, on Bay Campus, very near to The College academic building.
Campus life
The College is located on the stunning seafront bay campus of Swansea University overlooking Swansea Bay and the Gower Peninsula - the first place to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Sports facilities
If you are interested in getting involved in sports and societies, Swansea University is the perfect university for you. The campus offers a wide range of recreational and sport facilities that you can use, including a gym, playing fields, sports halls and the 50-metre Welsh National Swimming Pool.
Student clubs
Students’ Union – Every Swansea University student is automatically a member of the Union. Your Students' Union exists to make sure you get the most out of your education and enjoy every aspect of University life whether that's by getting involved in societies or sports clubs and teams, meeting people at Union events, or socialising in Union venues. The Students’ Union is a democratic organisation that is independent of the University and students of The College have an opportunity to elect representatives to the Students Union.
