History

Founded in 1994 as a center specialized in CGI, Videogames, Animation and Digital Film. Since the beginning, UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL has always been concerned with offering the most hands-on and cutting-edge training to its students, updating syllabi in line with new technologies and production systems every year.

Education

The UA SCHOOL evaluation methodology is completely practical. There is no theory the students have to study in order to take a theory test. In each of our programs, students learn by carrying out larger and larger projects in line with what they’re learning each week. This way, they finish their program with many projects behind them, and with a professional reel.
Our training is always focused on their portfolio, since it is what it’s valued in the professional industry.
In the final year of training, students work in a Production Environment, learning the real work-flow of a professional studio.

Career

As these are completely specialized programs, our students have a professional portfolio of a high level of quality, which means that job prospects are the best in the Industry.
The Employment Dept. is in charge of working with students in a personalized way to check their professional goals and help them in that area, whether it’s guiding them when applying for studies, preparing them for interviews, portfolio advice depending on where they want to apply, recommendation letters, or with advice if their aim is to set up their own indie studio.
In their last year, students have sessions in which they learn to set up their portfolio and online presence, and manage job offers depending on their professional goals.

Student services

The attention given by the teachers to the students is totally personalized, as they are classes of a maximum of 15 students.
Students have fully updated classrooms. Each of the workstations with technical material of the best quality, renewed every year.
Each class is supported by a video wall system where students can see the professor’s screen while they are working.
In addition, students who for some reason cannot come to class some day, can connect live with the class through our advanced virtual campus.

Housing services

At UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL we provide personalized advice to our students in their search for accommodation in Valencia (Spain). In addition, we put students in contact with a real estate agency specialized in student accommodation, which can help them when searching among different types of accommodation depending on their budget.

Library services

The students can use the classrooms and technical equipment available at UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL outside of class time, in order to practice, study and/or do their homework.
Also, the students have access to all the bibliography that their teachers recommend both in class and through the virtual campus.

ICT services

Students can contact the IT Department in different ways: Through the virtual campus (where they have the classes recorded to watch them as many times as they need), through our students Discord server (where they can also connect live to see the classes in case of not being able to attend on site) and of course through Email or in their offices in our facilities.

Medical services

At UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL there are basic facilities for healthcare on campus, and offcampus there are nearby health centers, to cover all the needs of students.

Campus life

On the main campus are the classrooms where the students of all the programs have the classes in a daily basis from Monday to Thursday. On this campus, students have the classroom floors, the Administration, Admissions and IT floor, and the rest and eating areas, where they have gaming machines, a cinema area to watch movies, sofas, vending machines of food, coffee and water. This campus is located just 10 minutes walk from the city center, being very well connected with public services of Metro, Bus and the public bicycle service (Valenbisi).
The Digital Film and VFX students also have the Film campus, at 15 minutes by public transport from the city center, where they can shoot on sets and with chroma keys.

Sports facilities

Near the main campus is the old Riverbed of the River Turia, converted into the largest urban garden in Europe. In this, there are accessible sports facilities such as athletics tracks, rugby fields, soccer fields, gyms, bike paths and climbing walls.

Student clubs

Students can create any type of club and association of their interest. Through the virtual campus, activities are also shared that students can join without having to be part of any club.
In addition, every year activities are organized with all the students to attend events such as the Global Game Jam, among others.
