History
Between 1956-1960 the formation and organization of departments of the Luhansk State Medical University, initially planned to be named Voroshilovgrad Medical Institute of the Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR.
Education
University education is carried out at 6 faculties: medical specialty "Medical Affairs", "Pediatrics", dental, pharmaceutical, foreign citizens and postgraduate education.
Research
One of the important sections of the university is research and training of scientific and pedagogical staff. The organization, coordination and control of this work is carried out by the scientific part with its subdivisions headed by the vice-rector for scientific work.

Student services
The Office for Work with Foreign Citizens is a structural subdivision of State Establishment “Luhansk State Medical University”. It reports directly to the Rector and is engaged in the admission and registration of foreigners and stateless persons, as well as accompanies foreign students throughout their studies.
Housing services
By the decision of the Rubizhne City Council of August 31, 2016 №14 / 5 "On consent to lend part of the real estate object", the State Institution "Luhansk State Medical University" was transferred to the renovated building for students to live in it. On the ground floor there are:
- Women's shower for 11 people;
- Men's shower for 11 people;
- Hall;
- Other office space.
- 128 living rooms;
- 16 kitchens;
- 4 dryers;
- 4 washbasins;
- 8 toilets;
- Place for ironing clothes;
- Hall.
Campus life
The University has all conditions for students' all-round development with lecture halls, laboratories, computer classrooms, gyms. There are student canteens in each academic building.
Sports facilities
Sports facilities give wide opportunities for students to go in for sports. Students of the University take part in championships and get prize awards.
Student clubs
The Council of Young Scientists of Luhansk State Medical University (hereinafter - LSMU) was established to fully promote research, inventive and creative activities of graduate students, students and young scientists, providing a systematic approach to the training of scientific and pedagogical staff of the highest qualification. , preservation and development of the intellectual potential of the university.

My journey as a medical student has been deeply enriching. The meticulously crafted curriculum provided a robust foundation in medical science, complemented by immersive clinical experiences that finely honed my skills. What truly stood out was the unwavering support and mentorship from our faculty, whose guidance was not only invaluable but profoundly humane. Moreover, the tapestry of cultures within our student body fostered a spirit of collaboration and understanding, enhancing our learning through diverse perspectives. While my university experience has been exceptional, I believe there are opportunities for enhancement. Introducing more avenues for research, such as early access to labs and dedicated research electives, could further ignite the passion for discovery among students. Additionally, integrating innovative technologies like virtual reality for anatomy simulations would add an exciting dimension to our learning journey. In summary, my time at university has been profoundly rewarding, instilling in me not just knowledge and skills, but also a deep-seated commitment to compassionate care and scientific inquiry.
