History
The University of Westminster boasts a rich history and has been providing students with academic excellence, cultural engagement and personal enrichment since its inception as The Polytechnic Institution in 1838.
Education
Our undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses span a variety of subjects – from Architecture and Interiors to Computer Science and Software Engineering, from Business and Management to Journalism, Digital Media and PR.
Research
Research at Westminster furthers our University’s historic mission to enable people from every background to reach their full potential.
At Westminster, researchers ask the questions that expand beyond existing boundaries. Continuing our pioneering past, colleagues and students, thinkers and creators, all come together in our Research Communities, Groups and Centres to look forward, anticipate what’s changing, and embrace the new with energy and imagination.

Whether you're looking for your first graduate role, a part-time job to fit around your studies, applying for a postgraduate course or just plain confused about what you want to do in the future book a one-to-one advice session.
These advice sessions give you the opportunity to obtain feedback and advice on CVs, application forms, interviews and other career concerns.

Sports facilities
Members of the general public can get access to our gyms and classes, as well as our range of other sports and fitness facilities and activities.
Our services also include fitness assessments, one-to-one personal training and exercise programmes without the astronomical joining fees and attitude you can find at other city-central gyms.
Student clubs
When you enrol at the University, you automatically become a member of the University of Westminster Students’ Union (UWSU) - an independent organisation that is run by students, for students.
The Students' Union is there to represent your needs as a student, protect your rights and make sure your voice is heard when key decisions are made at the University.
