Rotterdam School of Management

Learn about business and more, with an education that delves deep into the most relevant environmental, societal and governance issues. RSM gives you the opportunity to go to places other MBA programmes don’t go, from the innermost drivers of your own behaviour to the broadest possible perspectives on business and its place in society.

History

Welcome to Rotterdam. Our storied city is home to the first Nobel Prize winner in economic sciences as well as the first skyscraper. In Rotterdam, we have a history of innovation that’s fueled by the prestigious Erasmus University and its world-renown business school, Rotterdam School of Management (RSM).

Education

Discover the latest business insights from the leading minds that produce them. Learn about people from around the world by sitting right next to them in class. And build meaningful connections from more than 30,000 respected business alumni worldwide. RSM is consistently one of Europe’s top-ranked business schools.

That’s because our students get exactly what they need to move their careers to the global level. To us, succeeding in business takes more than knowing business principles. It’s about having a global perspective, an innovative mindset, a critical eye, and a focus on collaboration and sustainability.

Research

World-class research is the backbone of all our educational programmes. To provide the best possible environment for conducting research, RSM co-founded the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM), together with the Erasmus School of Economics.

ERIM challenges researchers to publish their work in academic journals with the greatest possible impact on their field. To accomplish this, the institute provides excellent support and research facilities like generous research funding, a state-of-the-art behavioural lab and survey facilities, access to dozens of specialised databases, and skillful support for external grant applications that has proved to be very successful.

Career

Of our most recent job searching graduates, 82% successfully changed their careers or made significant career progress within their industry upon completing their MBA.

The annual mean salary of our graduates has increased in the last year by 7,3% to $92.515, with base salaries ranging from $23.500 to $320.000.

More than 55% of our graduates secured employment in the Netherlands after the MBA programme, whereas others pursued their careers in Europe, Asia and emerging markets.

Of our graduates, 10% were sponsored or started their own business. Thus, the RSM MBA is a great opportunity to gain business skills to further grow within your previous employer or your own business.

Student services

A team of trained and dedicated career coaches take you on a journey from day one to guide you on your way to your ultimate post-MBA job. CDC services help you to identify and attain your immediate, mid- and long-term career objectives. Our career coaches will provide training to you in winning interview techniques, networking and presentation skills, and offer full-scale recruitment activities. The approach we have helps you to answer three key questions:

  • Who am I?
  • What do I want?
  • How do I get it?

And, then, we help you to “Get it!”

That’s what drives everything we do at CDC.

Housing services

All successful MBA applicants can make full use of the services offered by the RSM Housing Office. We have a range of basic housing options of various types and sizes available for students.

Specific apartments are available for couples, small families, single tenants, or students who wish to minimize costs by residing in units with shared common areas (such as the kitchen, shower). If you prefer, staff can also offer you advice about looking for your own apartment.

Library services

The EUR University Library collection includes approximately one million volumes, over 10,000 periodicals and access to more than 300 digital databases in all scientific areas taught and studied at EUR. In addition, RSM has its own institute library, the Business Information Centre (BIC) which contains a huge collection of monographs with an emphasis on management, marketing and more.

ICT services

Our students are given ICT provision for the duration of their studies. You will be given a personal email account, an ERNA access code, which provides you with access to the university’s own intranet and the internet via permanent wireless and plug-in student worksites, permanent student worksites at faculties and in the University library, plug-in and wireless WI-FI network (Hotspots).

Medical services

Everybody in the Netherlands is covered under private insurance and students have to arrange their own. If you are European, the European insurance card will most likely cover some expenses i.e. in case of accident. As an RSM student, you can make use of Physiotherapy Woudestein, a small-scale private practice offering physiotherapy and manual therapy, preventive care and aftercare.

Campus life

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University has firmly established its reputation as one of Europe's leading business schools, so we’ve made a video to show you our campus, our community and our spirit!

A recent construction and renovation project has given us a modern campus with a cultural and lively heart, as well as smart cooling, heating and lighting from renewable energy. It also gave us more student accommodation plus extra lecture rooms, study spaces and more facilities.

Sports facilities

The university offers excellent sports facilities. For approximately €120 per year you can participate in training sessions and use all facilities in the sport buildings on campus. Sports offered include tennis, squash, rugby, soccer, squash, capoeira, rowing, basketball and other fitness activities such as Pilates, yoga and dancing.

The University’s Sports Centre has two sports halls, five squash courts, a fitness gym and six open-air tennis courts. All sports facilities are free during September. There is a deposit to be paid when you buy a sports card.

Student clubs

Getting your MBA from RSM is not just about the in-class academics. Our MBAs are pro-active in creating a rich life outside of the MBA classroom that is full of additional networking opportunities and extracurricular activities.

Most of these activities are overseen by the Student Association and Student Clubs. The clubs specialise in specific business areas or in hosting social and sporting events. They organise company presentations, panel discussions, informal meetings, full-scale conferences and many more.

RSM is accredited by:

  1. AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)
  1. AMBA (The Association of MBAs)
  1. EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System)
