Founded in 2004, Swansea University Medical School has quickly established itself as one of the best medical schools in the UK.

Located in the heart of the Swansea University Campus, and right next to Singleton Hospital, our Medical School delivers a comprehensive education and training portfolio, from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, to professional graduate training and Graduate Entry Medicine.

Our teaching has been awarded the highest 5 star rating in the QS Stars quality assessment. This places us amongst other world-leading institutions who have also achieved 5 stars, such as Harvard and Oxford.

We also work closely with our NHS partners in achieving excellence in teaching, research and clinical service.

Swansea University Medical School is ranked 1st in the UK for research environment, and 2nd for overall research quality. We conduct World-Leading quality research that delivers a real impact for health and wellbeing.Swansea University Medical School has strategically identified the need to develop research excellence coupled to critical mass. As a first step towards this, in 2013, the medical school developed 4 research themes to cover it’s research activity.

Each led by a senior academic and designed to foster integrated research activity whilst nurturing young talent, the 4 themes are:
