About

History

The Faculty of Education and Health Sciences (EHS) was newly created in January 2008 as part of a substantive academic restructuring at the University.

Education

This has resulted in bringing together a new Faculty with a number of related departments including Clinical Therapies, Education and Professional Studies, the Graduate Entry Medical School, Nursing and Midwifery, Physical Education and Sport Sciences and Psychology.

Research

Research in EHS includes education, health and wellbeing and is organised around four key areas of research strength; we have a strong focus on providing excellent support for researchers and an excellent post graduate education.

Services

Student services

Those interested in post primary teaching as well as those interested in working in the health sector will find some of the most progressive programmes in these fields as well as dedicated supervision from faculty members committed to the highest standards of teaching and quality research.

Housing services

Campus Life Services aims to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment through engaging students in a number of environmental initiatives throughout the term. We are very fortunate in that our campus is located on a beautiful parkland site bordering the river Shannon.
