Top-level results in research and science, excellence in teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration have stood for the Technical University of Liberec since 1953. Around 7000 students study at seven faculties and one specialized institute.
Within six faculties and a university institute, it offers a wide choice of study programmes in technical and scientific disciplines, humanities as well as artistic and interdisciplinary study branches.
Technology transfer, innovation and competitiveness are the prime objectives of the TUL research activities. Their results in nanofibres production technology, in textile and clothing industries and in development of production machines for textile and glass industries have proven a lasting success. The University is also proud to be an important partner for the automotive companies in the Czech Republic and globally.
The University can satisfy all requests for accommodation in its modern Halls of Residence, which have won the title of the Best Hall of Residence in the Czech Republic several years in succession.
The University offers excellent facilities for sport activities, grants everybody an access to hard copies of resources in the University Library and to the digital resources online via a Wi-Fi link provided everywhere on campus.

Only a few universities in the Czech Republic offer as versatile sporting possibilities as those available at the TUL. The University runs a Sports Complex which, in addition to the excellent facilities in Liberec and its surroundings, enables a wide range of summer and winter sport activities.
