History
Founded in 1836, the University of London made higher education available to women and those unable to pursue traditional forms of study. In 1858, we became the birthplace of long distance learning, allowing students outside of London to study for world-class degrees all around the world.

Career
The Careers Group includes over 200 careers and employability professionals and employability consultants working across its member services. The majority of staff are based within the member institutions, providing expertise and experience to support undergraduates and postgraduates, research staff and recent graduates; liaising with graduate recruiters from all sectors; and working with academic and other staff to embed employability learning within the student experience.

Housing services
We have a wide range of accommodation options across London to suit every requirement. All University of London students can apply to live in our Intercollegiate Halls. The larger member institutions have their own halls, but a number of the smaller, more specialised institutions do not.
The University of London Housing Services are also able to offer advice to students and staff seeking accommodation in the private sector and have a range of flats available to all students of the University.
For students looking to study off-campus, Amber Student has stepped in to offer a home away from home while providing affordable, safe, and hygienic student accommodation in London.

CitySport is the sports and fitness centre of City, University of London providing fitness, wellbeing and sporting opportunities to City students, staff and alumni, as well as students from other universities, local residents and corporate organisations.
