The firm’s new Drive Smart, Live Safe Scholarship: How Students Can Help Prevent Drunk Driving in Their Communities promises a scholarship to a standout student.

Eligibility

All applicants to this scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements as laid out on the scholarship application page, including: 

  • Applicant must be enrolled at a college, trade school, university, or graduate school
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment
  • Applicant must have residency in the United States
  • Applicant must be in good academic standing
  • Applicant must submit some personal information, including name, contact information, and academic information. 
  • Applicant must author an original essay on the scholarship topic provided. 

Anyone who meets the following conditions is NOT eligible to apply: 

  • Employees or children of employees of Centro Legal Hispano de Las Vegas
  • Past recipients of the Drive Smart, Live Safe Scholarship: How Students Can Help Prevent Drunk Driving in Their Communities
  • Applicants who are unable/unwilling to be interviewed by a representative of Centro Legal Hispano de Las Vegas, if they were to be awarded a scholarship. 
  • Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships or multiple years in a row

Centro Legal Hispano de Las Vegas asks that students refrain from using AI to create their scholarship essays. The scholarship selection committee wants to celebrate students’ unique thoughts and achievements and will disqualify any students who attempt to auto-generate a scholarship essay.

Applicants have until April 1, to complete an essay of no more than 1,000 words about the ways that today’s young people can reduce the number of drunk drivers on the road, as well as what steps they can take to spearhead community change.
