Overview

The Doctoral School of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Pannonia was established in 2000 and represents the highest level of education in the field. Since its foundation, more than 125 doctoral degrees have been awarded.

The eight-semester doctoral programme requires the completion of 240 credits. In the first four semesters, credits are earned through coursework (minimum 48 credits), teaching activities (maximum 32 credits), and the publication and presentation of scientific results in high-quality journals and at conferences. In the second phase, credits are obtained exclusively through research output, publication, and presentation. A progress report on scientific achievements is submitted every second semester (20 credits each). Students may choose from more than 80 specialised subjects linked to the School’s main research areas.

The School offers a wide range of current and relevant research topics supported by strong research groups, including atmospheric chemistry, environmental mineralogy, limnology, toxicology, behavioural ecology, soil and groundwater chemistry, analytical and separation science, radiochemistry and radioecology, organic synthesis and catalysis, bioorganic and biocoordination chemistry, physical chemistry of condensed phases, and environmental and inorganic photochemistry.
