Overview
The general goals of the Doctoral Programme in Psychology offered by Universidade de Aveiro are the following:
- Provide students with systematic and in-depth training in different areas of psychology;
- - Promote research and knowledge dissemination skills that follow internationally established quality standards;
- - Develop autonomy in the design and implementation of scientific research.
- The PDP integrates in its first year a set of curricular units that allow the student to have contact with the state of the art in different areas of research in psychology, deepen knowledge about research and data analysis methodologies, explore and develop their research project. The student designs and implements their doctoral research over the three years of the study cycle, with the support of a supervision team and having access to laboratory resources as well as to resources based on partnerships with community structures.
Key Facts
The PDP develops its activities in partnership with the William James Center for Research (WJCR) and the Center for Research in Health Technologies and Services (CINTESIS), promoting research in the different areas undertaken by these centers. These include research related to clinical and health psychology, neuropsychology and neuropsychological rehabilitation, human sexuality, aging, educational and developmental psychology, and fundamental research with humans and non-humans.
