The Mind, Language and Cognition programme from University of Bucharest provides the rare opportunity for the Ph.D. students to approach complex scientific problems in a multidisciplinary environment, under the guidance of experienced researchers from different disciplines.

Overview

The Mind, Language and Cognition programme from University of Bucharest will focus on topics such as: natural language processing, artificial learning, machine learning, AI, computational design, language acquisition as a cognitive process, cognitive states and their linguistic expressions, polysemy and cognitive phases, principles of cognitive grammars, behavior modeling & behavior dynamics, group and individual cognitive biases, cognitive flexibility and language, social network modeling, emotion dynamics, social cognition.

Students at The Mind, Language and Cognition programme from University of Bucharest  will:

  • gain an understanding on how neurons communicate and form human neural circuits, 
  • be aware of the gap between biological structures and psychological manifestations such as cognitions, behaviors and thoughts,
  • gain knowledge on how natural language is comprehended and produced, 
  • gain deep thought and a strong tradition of discussing these aspects of human functioning.

  • For admission to a Ph.D. research program, we expect you to hold a Master’s degree in addition to a Bachelor’s degree and proficiency in English
    • Acceptance Letter
    • Obtain the Certificate of recognition/equivalence of study documents issued by the National Center of Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas.
    • Application form / registration form (original)
    • A simple copy of a valid ID
    • A copy of the passport having the specific visa for studies in Romania (for Non-EU students)
    • Birth certificate
    • Transcripts
    • A memorandum of scientific activity
    • A list of titles of published scientific papers (if applicable)
    • A research proposal 
    • An English language proficiency certificate in authorized translation if the certificate is in a foreign language
    • Medical certificate
    • The receipt for the registration fee
    • 3 Photos of ¾ centimeters
    • An affidavid in regard to the correctness of the online submitted documents
