Research
The University of Bucharest has more than 50 affiliated institutes, departments and research centers, linked to the fields of study within its faculties, as well as the “Dimitrie Brandza” Botanical Garden in Bucharest, the UNESCO Geopark Tara Hategului, several Neolithic and medieval archeological sites and a series of research units.
At the same time, the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB), founded in 2014, was developed as an innovative structure that encourages excellence and interdisciplinarity in Life, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Exact Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Student services
The Preparatory Year - Romanian Language Course (IRO) is a one year study program that is mandatory for those students who wish to pursue their studies in Romanian and don’t have a language certificate in this sense. The program follows the structure of an academic year, being divided in two semesters.
The Cafeteria of the University of Bucharest is situated in the campus of the Faculty of Law, within the Mihail Kogalniceanu Dormitory and it offers students every day high quality, always fresh food, in a rich menu, which is accessible to everybody.
The students of the University of Bucharest benefit from free medical services, offered by the Medical Consulting Room found in the Mihail Kogalniceanu Dormitory.
Housing services
The University of Bucharest offers students approximately 5300 accommodation quarters in its 15 dormitories. This number covers almost 80% of the necessary number of quarters.
A good average grade in the entrance examinations can get you accommodation in the University of Bucharest dormitories.
Moreover, students who do not receive accommodation in the dormitories may take advantage of an individual accommodation support grant in the particular sector (host).
Library services
Central University Library “Carol I” features a complex organizational structure. It includes the Central Unit, the “I.C. Petrescu” Pedagogical Department and 16 other branches of libraries (to be found within the University of Bucharest).

Nowadays, the Internet has become one of the main communication and information facility of the modern world. The number of Internet users grows constantly. In Romania there are several companies that provide services of this kind. The easiest way to rapidly access the web is used in the Internet-cafes in every town of the country.
Campus life
The University of Bucharest is the heart of a multicultural and cosmopolitan city, surrounded by numerous museums, palaces, memorial houses, theaters, cinemas, libraries and art galleries.
