General requirements

You must have one of the following, which confers eligibility for GBCM:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology (minimum 2:1);
  • Conversion course (minimum Merit);
  • Psychology-based Master's degree (minimum Merit).
You must have at least one year's full-time experience of working with children and young people within education, health, social care, youth justice, or a childcare or community setting.Full time means 35 hours a week, or the equivalent if part time. This can be made up of either:
  • paid employment (1,680 hours, minimum)
  • nine months paid employment (1,260 hours, minimum) and three months (420 hours, minimum) relevant voluntary experience.
