About the programme
Medical Mycology is an increasingly important aspect of infectious diseases research which addresses all aspects of disease caused by fungi.
Postgraduate research opportunities at The University of Manchester are world class, numerous and highly varied.
The university hosts the Manchester Fungal Infection Group (MFIG), a centre of international excellence for basic, applied, translational and clinical fungal research which has close affiliations with the NHS Mycology Reference Centre Manchester (MRCM), and the National Aspergillosis Centre (NAC) at the University Hospital of South Manchester.

- We require applicants to hold, or be about to obtain, an Upper Second class Honours degree, or the equivalent qualification gained outside the UK, in a related subject area for entry to a PhD programme.
- A Lower Second class Honours degree may be considered if applicants also hold a Master's degree with a Merit classification.
