• The primary aim of  Musculoskeletal and Dental Research programme at Medical University of Viena is to prepare students to become advanced research scientists in the field of musculoskeletal and oral sciences. The program is designed for outstanding students who have completed their medical training and for those students with a background in basic science and engineering. The multidisciplinary program will prepare postgraduate students for faculty positions in the academia and industry. To achieve this goal, the curriculum includes introductory lectures and seminars, lectures in musculoskeletal and oral health, an ongoing series of journal clubs and seminars, and practical course according to the specialization of each student.
• The program follows a translational and multidisciplinary approach to survey musculoskeletal and oral disorders, to detect their causes and to develop strategies for diagnosis and therapy. The program is closely related to the organizational development plan of the MUW highlighting musculoskeletal disorders as a research focus. In addition, the doctoral program is a conglomerate of several disciplines, including dentistry.
• MedUni Vienna offers fully-funded doctoral studies in interdisciplinary programs, including Medical Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Immunology, Neurosciences, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Malignant Diseases, (RNA, vascular, infectious) Biology, Molecular Signalling or Mechanisms of Cell Biology, Cellular Homeostasis, Public Health and Medical Informatics. Research activities range from basic to clinical research. The University offers state-of-the-art research facilities and is directly linked to one of the largest hospitals in Europe.
