Public Health programme is offered by the Medical University of Vienna
Public Health is a multidisciplinary research area integrating medical and other sciences to collect and to assess data related to health and disease. With a view to demonstrate historical and current impacts of social, environmental and occupational factors on health and disease, to analyze the importance of these relationships at the population level, and to design and assessing public and occupational preventive measures, health promotion programmes, improved health care systems, and programmes of behavioral risk reduction
The symbiosis of science and practice will be accomplished by combining scientific experience and guidance with practice seminars. As a result, graduates will be prepared to apply scientific and practical methods in his/her profession in order to continuously advance professional practice and effectiveness, to take responsibility for improving public health and to promote it by application-oriented research projects.
MedUni Vienna offers fully-funded doctoral studies in interdisciplinary programs, including Medical Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Immunology, Neurosciences, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Malignant Diseases, (RNA, vascular, infectious) Biology, Molecular Signalling or Mechanisms of Cell Biology, Cellular Homeostasis, Public Health and Medical Informatics. Research activities range from basic to clinical research. The University offers state-of-the-art research facilities and is directly linked to one of the largest hospitals in Europe.

- The basic requirement for admission to a doctorate at MedUni Vienna is the commitment of a Ph.D. supervisor to support you in your studies.
- Supervisors have the possibility to advertise their open Ph.D. positions on our Ph.D. opportunities website or through their own channels. You can apply for these Ph.D. positions online in our application portal within the application deadline.
