Overview
The programme includes obligatory and facultative courses which highlight basic science as well as well applied sciences, and also lectures by visiting professors from various fields and countries, who will share their knowledge and experience in their respective research areas.
The most important scientific topics covered by the programme are: new polymers, new biologically active compounds, new methods of analytical chemistry, new diagnostic methods, anticorrosion technology, new nanomaterials as well as functional food.

Chemical Sciences graduates at Gdansk University of Technology have the knowledge and skills in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology and chemical technology.
The graduates of the PhD programme will be qualified either to enter an industry as unit leaders or to continue their research in academia as experts in their field. General requirements
- If you are a graduate of a master degree program (master level of studies) and have a master's degree, you can participate in the admissions to our school.
- If you are finishing your master's degree (you are in the last semester), but have not yet defended your thesis, you can also apply.
Required:
- confirmation of payment of the application fee
- a copy of the diploma or diplomas of higher education certifying candidate's educational background
- a diploma supplement or diplomas or a certified list of grades in the first- cycle and second-cycle or long-cycle master’s degree studies
- a statement of a prospective supervisor
- a document certifying knowledge of English at least at B2 level
- the candidate’s curriculum vitae (CV)
- one color photograph
- the enrolment form
Candidates also take part in an interview conducted in English.
