Career
We offer a wide variety of consultations, workshops and seminars in the field of "career service" and "career perspectives".
- Consultation hours by the different PhD offices, especially HBRS office (Dr. Kruse). Just drop in, we will be happy to advise you.
- Lecture series "Career perspectives": Alumni students or cooperation partners from industry will give insights into their careers, job descriptions and career opportunities. Usually 2-3 hours on Friday afternoons.
- Excursions to industry: we regularly organize excursions to companies. For example, in May 2013 we went to Qiagen GmbH, Hilden.

Student services
We offer a consultation service to German or international Postdocs (or junior group leaders) who are new at MHH.
Campus life
We have about 250 PhD students in the graduate school. All is very familiar. Research institutes are situated on one campus.
Sports facilities
Sports: MHH has its own gym and you as a student are welcome to join for a very small fee only. In addition, Leibniz Universität and MHH offer a variety of sports courses every term for free.
Accreditation
The institute has been accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO 15189 for all diagnostic techniques performed in the fields of bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, serology and molecularbiological infection diagnostics as well as hospital epidemiology.

neurophysiology
I have done as a lecturer for the last 3 years and I had done MSc in human physiology in one of known university in Ethiopia.
My PhD story
As I have a background in pharmacy and molecular biology, I wanted to combine these two areas of my educational backgrounds for my PhD studies. My current PhD project is the perfect combination of these two. The research group I work for has provided me with the environment that has fostered my motivation to perform well in my research work. However, as a PhD student, I have found it hard to stop thinking about my experiments even when I am at home with my family. In my opinion, the most important think to consider before applying for the PhD are your interest in the project you are applying for and the environment of your would be research group.
