The history of Yonsei University began on April 10th, 1885, as Korea’s first modern hospital "Gwanghyewon." Two weeks after opening, King Kojong gave Gwanghyewon a new name - "Chejungwon." Gwanghyewon was established by a medical missionary, Horace N. Allen.

The Human Resources Development Center aims to provide active assistance to students in career search. The center enables convenient job search and career information and supports students to build strategies through career consultation and employment programs.
Office of Student Affairs and Services consists of Student Support Team, Scholarship and Employment Team, Gender Equity Center, Counseling Center, Physically-challenged Students Support Center, National Examination Information Center. The main business of the Student Support Team is to support student council, support activities of the student groups, such as student organizations and management and operation of the student union facilities.
On campus: Maeji House Off campus: There are 2 apartment complexes near the campus and a new complex is under construction. The size of an apartment unit varies from 36.3 m², 66 m² to 79.2 m². Units larger than 66m² have more than 2 rooms so that a student can live alone or share with a roommate. Besides, there are a wide range of studios for one person with a cheaper rent compared to apartments. Since rents vary depending on locations and facilities, students can make a choice. Most residential units can be rented for one year or one semester and a rent is usually paid in advance.
Yonsei University was the first in Asia to implement the Residential College (RC) Program. The Underwood Memorial Library opened in April 2013 to effectively support the RC program. As a Residential College Library of Yonsei International Campus, Underwood Memorial Library provides a variety of services to meet the global standards of RC education.
Mirae Computer Lab is composed of 4 Lecture Halls and 1 Open Lecture Hall, and all computers have necessary software installed.
Yonsei International Campus health center has been operating for the purpose of improving and maintaining health of undergraduates and faculty. It is operated with health care as primary care in forms of medication and treatment, emergency management framework in preparation for emergency situations, epidemics by establishing a safety management system.
The International Campus offers up-to-date high quality managing system, multimedia lecture system and ubiquotous lecture halls that enable wireless access in all areas of campus. Moreover, the numerous eco-friendly rest areas on campus will provide students a pleasant learning area.
