Student services

ANU College has a Student Support Officer (Welfare) who all students can approach for assistance and referral for non-academic (accommodation, personal, medical, or legal) matters. This can help ensure the smoothest adjustment to, and ongoing enjoyment of, college life. Free and confidential on-campus counselling services are also available.

Housing services

ANU College students have the option to stay in on-campus accommodations – with a range of residential styles – or live with local families.

  • For new students studying in Australia for the first time, homestay is recommended as the safest and best option.
  • Students under the age of 18 commencing study at ANU College have specific accommodation and welfare arrangements.
  • Students are welcome to search for and set up their own private accommodation.

Library services

  • Access to ANU libraries.
  • All ANUC students have access to the libraries. The only group not able to access their databases are EAP students. No ANUC students have borrowing rights.

ICT services

  • Wireless network and internet access for students.
  • Quiet study and ICT resource areas for students

Medical services

Qualified first-aid officers are available at ANU College. Both male and female general medical doctors and nurses are also available on-campus for students.

Campus life

ANU’s main campus is in the heart of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, only minutes from the nation's parliament and national institutions, and just a short walk from the city’s bustling centre.

Our campus combines the advantages of studying in Australia's capital city, with its state-of-the-art spaces for research, but wide open ‘green’ spaces to learn, meet and live.

Facilities at the ANU College campus include:

  • 17 purpose built classrooms with ICT (Information and Communication Technology) facilities over 2 levels
  • SDL (Self Directed Learning) with computerised language learning software
  • Comfortable student common room with kitchen facilities

Sports facilities

ANU College offers students a number of interesting and enjoyable events covering sightseeing, sporting, cultural and social activities throughout the year.

Student clubs

Activities generally organised by student members of the ANU College Social Club, who'll help students get to know classmates and teachers, while helping them meet students from other programs.

There are many ANU College events and social activities on offer to students:

  • On campus BBQs.
  • Themed activities (like Loud Shirt Day).
  • All manner of sporting options (indoor soccer, basketball, ten pin bowling, golf, badminton and table tennis).
