Housing services

We work closely with a number of local accommodation providers who provide accommodation to our students. Liverpool is a student city – this means that there is a wide range of accommodation options available, and we typically encourage students to live within a 10-15 minute walk of LIPA. Accommodation prices typically start at around £80 per week, with the cost of living in Liverpool being much lower than some other cities in the UK, particularly London and the south-east of England.

Library services

LIPA’s Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is a specialist creative and performing arts library with an extensive collection of books, e-books, scores, CDs, DVDs, e-resources, print and electronic journals. Whether you are looking for individual songs or scripts, background research or creative inspiration, the LRC Team will be able to help.

ICT services

LIPA’s integrated learning environment has a variety of study spaces, including individual and group work areas, and an open-access computer suite. Facilities include printing, copying and scanning, plus binding and laminating equipment. A range of stationery is available for purchase to support your studies.

Medical services

Students are strongly encouraged to register with local GP/Doctor and Dentist. Information on local practices is available for students when they enroll at LIPA.

Campus life

Students have access to the latest equipment and high-end rehearsal and performance spaces.

The Paul McCartney Auditorium is the largest of our performance spaces and is a traditional proscenium arch theatre with 350 seats.

The George Harrison Workshop Studio is an experimental performance space that offers creatives and performers a ‘blank canvas’ for productions.

We also have 30 music practice rooms, recording studios, film, TV, and dance studios, a management suite, a scenic workshop, and our costume and wardrobe department.

Student clubs

LIPA students are able to participate in clubs and societies at Liverpool John Moores University.
