International vibe
Good University for those looking for an international environment. The facilities are overall good but the lack of choices in the courses over the program could be improved. Professors are usually professional and helpful.
maybe now maybe never
Think about doing a degree twice, if you want to pursue or not. In some cases that doesnt really matter if you got master or not. Depends on your understanding of business.
Studying Psychology as a foreign student
Moving to Ljubljana was one of the most challenging and transformative experiences of my life. It was the first time I left home, completely alone, without knowing a single person in the city, the language, or the culture. Everything was new: the people, the environment, and the responsibilities that came with independence. I decided to study in Slovenian, a language I was still learning along the way. At first, it felt like climbing a mountain without the proper gear. From the very beginning, I had to deal with the practical struggles of life — looking for flats in a city where scams were common, constantly moving between temporary places, and facing high rental prices that put an enormous strain on my family. My mother worked double shifts just to make sure there was food on the table. The weight of her sacrifice was always with me, and it motivated me to keep pushing forward. On top of these challenges, I live with a significant visual impairment, which earned me a special status as a student with additional needs. My parents were worried I wouldn’t be able to manage all of this at once: a new city, a new language, my disability, and the overwhelming pressure of studying. Honestly, I doubted myself too. There were moments when I wasn’t sure if I could make it through. But I did. After four difficult years, I successfully completed my bachelor’s degree. I owe a lot of that to my mother, myself and the professors at my faculty, who were professional, supportive, and understanding of my situation. Finishing my studies was proof to myself that I am capable, resilient, and ready for more. I am hungry to continue — to start my master’s degree and keep building on everything I’ve worked for. Unfortunately, I faced another barrier. In Ljubljana, the master’s program I wanted to pursue has strict quotas for non-EU students. Even though my bachelor’s program welcomed a group of us, only two spots were available for the master’s program, with an additional entrance exam required. Competing against my colleagues — people who are also fighting their own difficult circumstances — felt unfair and disheartening. This year, the program was already full by April, leaving me without a chance to continue my studies immediately. Instead of giving up, I’ve decided to take a gap year. I will spend it working to support my family, especially my mother, and preparing myself to reapply for the program. Financial help during this period would make a world of difference. It would allow me to contribute more meaningfully at home while not losing momentum in my academic and personal development. My journey in Ljubljana has been anything but easy, but it has shaped me into someone who refuses to quit, no matter how high the obstacles are stacked. I’ve grown not just as a student, but as a person — more independent, more resilient, and more determined to achieve my goals. This gap year is not a pause in my education but an investment in my future. When the time comes, I will be ready to return to my studies stronger than ever, eager to prove once again that perseverance can overcome even the most daunting challenges.
